Connecting with Amanda McDowall and Jacqueline Raymond Wegman co-founders of the International Girls Ensemble! The International Girls Ensemble was chosen for HB’s residency in 2020 and finally they are back in 2024 with 12 young girls eager to tell their inspiring stories and share their artistry with the community. Amanda and Jacqueline guide us through their artistic development towards creating theatre that liberates young women. Their enlightened experience during their first volunteer trip to Thailand led the ladies to apply for their 501(c)3 and embark on the beautiful journey that is the International Girls Ensemble! ITAC Conference

ITAC International Teaching Artist Collaborative, is a wonderful International hub of teaching artists, arts educators and community leaders. In September 2022 International Girls Ensemble was selected to present a workshop “Joyful Theatre Making Through a Trauma Informed Lens,” for the ITAC6 Conference. A biannual, in person, International Conference of  Teaching artists, art makers, administrators and community leaders.

Workshop held at Charlton School in recognition of International Women’s Day

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Saratoga Performing Arts Center and teaching artists from the International Girls Ensemble’s (IGE) After School Theatre Program recently visited the Charlton School in southern Saratoga County to facilitate a theatre-based workshop with their entire student body composed of 41 residential and day students who come from the Capital Region and from areas throughout the Northeast corridor.

Saratoga Performing Arts Center and teaching artists from the International Girls Ensemble’s After School Theatre Program visited the Charlton School. The program is based on an educational theatre curriculum that teaches improvisation, various forms of acting technique, writing exercises, and live performance.
